Testimonial Blog - Treasure Hunt Testimony #2
Today (Mon. Oct. 27th), I took my daughter’s friends (an 11 year old girl and 8 year old boy) out to lunch.
Over lunch I was compelled to share that Jesus was laughing and God was in a good mood.
My daughter’s friends are Christians but they said they have never heard or thought about that.
After lunch, I brought them to my home and showed them how to soak in God’s presence.
We simply laid on the floor and soaked in His presence. They said it felt SO GOOD!
Now that they have soaked, I told them I want to take them out for a treasure hunt before they moved
to Florida. They got excited! I showed them how to make the treasure map
and in few minutes we all had our own treasure maps.
We went to the Redondo Beach pier to find God’s treasures. Fishing pole, fish, big bird, shorts, were on
our lists and we approached the man that perfectly matched those words. After talking with this man
for several minutes, I told him that we were on a treasure hunt and he matched many of our clues. We asked
him if there was anything we could pray for him. He said “How about praying for a big fish?” (I think he was
teasing us.) I said “Why not? Let’s pray for a big fish.” We prayed that God will give him a big fish
and waited. Five minutes later he picked up his pole and started to reel in his line. And on his line,
we saw not one, but two big mackerels! Children cried out with excitement, “Thank you Jesus! Thank you Jesus!”
As we parted with this man, the 11 year old girl kept saying “Wow, that was awesome!”
She begged to do some more and we talked to an older lady who happened to be a person with the same name as hers. We prayed for the lady and she was in tears. As we parted, the lady turned around, came
back to us and gave the children some money!
My daughter’s friends told their Mother about the treasure hunt and how awesome it was.
The Mother said she would like them to teach her how to do it.
I’ve wanted to give my daughter’s friends something nice for a good-bye gift ( something to bring
to Florida with them) and the treasure hunt turned out to be the best gift ever! Thank you Jesus!
